They are large supporters of The United Way, The Red Cross, The Salvation Army, Thunder Bay Regional Hospital, ALS Society, The Heart and Stroke Society, The Cancer Society, The Diabetes Society, The Dew Drop Inn and many others.
For over 30 years, Royal Lepage/ Thunder Bay, organized one of the largest women's runs in Canada. Many businesses and United Way volunteers helped to make this a successful event. Every year, the day before Mothers Day, a thousand women would walk/ run or stroll 5km, around Boulevard Lake. We raised significant charitable dollars for our local United Way. Other benefactors were New life Ministries, Lakehead University Achievement Fund, New Hope Dog Rescue, Camp Quality, Thunder Bay Breast Cancer Science Centre, Epilepsy Ontario, Thunder Bay Counselling Centre, Northern Hearts, Diabetes Society.
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes
In 2011 and 2012, Royal Lepage Lannon Realty, Brokerage Women's United Run added the "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" to the program. Thunder Bay's Firefighters, Police and local men came out in their high heels in protest of violence against women. They raised over $10,000. To help fund Thunder Bay's Women's Shelter Houses.
Baskets of Hope for Women’s Shelters
Royal Lepage Lannon Realty, Brokerage also help provide in-kind goods to benefit the women and children residing in their local shelters. Every October our agents appeal to the community to help fill baskets of hope for our local women shelter houses. Annual National Garage Sale for Shelter
This Year on May 11, 2013 Royal Lepage Lannon Realty, Brokerage participated in Royal Lepage's National Garage Sale and All proceeds were sent to our two local Women's Shelters, Faye Peterson and Beendigan.
In the last four years, the National Garage Sale for Shelter has raised an incredible $1.2 million dollars nationally and generated significant media attention.
